3%-40% Boron Polyethylene PE Neutron Radiation Shielding Borated UHMW-PE Boards and Machined Parts
3%-40% Boron PE (Polyethylene) radiation shielding sheets are specially designed for nuclear shielding applications. They are composed of 3%-40% Boron by weight, while the rest of the sheet is made of PE. The Boron in these sheets shields against neutrons in a wide array of applications, including X-rays, nuclear submarines, cancer treatment facilities, nuclear power plants, seaports, airports, border protection, labs and other applications requiring attenuation of thermal neutrons. At a lower cost and lighter weight than lead, PE radiation shielding sheets can be used to replace lead in nuclear shielding applications.
